OrionCities is proud to offer Orion Protect™—an innovative data protection service developed exclusively for OrionCities customers. Using Continuous Data Protection technology, Orion Protect™ creates complete backups every six hours of all customer data. The data is then encrypted and archived on a remote backup server.
In the event of a hardware failure or other disaster, this secure data can be quickly accessed and restored by OrionCities technicians. It is a level of protection that allows thousands of small to medium sized businesses have faith in our services. It means that your data is safe, even when the unexpected happens.
We hope we never have to put Orion Protect™ in action. In addition to our raid arrays, weekly security scans, and frequent hardware updates, we closely monitor every one of our systems for the first signs of failure, and our uptime statistics are a clear indication that this attention to detail pays off.
At present time, Orion Protect™ is available for use only in hardware failures or other disasters. Customers are always encouraged to maintain their own periodic backups. Remember, you can never have too many backups of your critical data!
Orion Protect™ is offered free of charge for all shared and reseller hosting accounts. The service is also available on dedicated server plans at an additional fee.
Orion Protect™ is now available for customers who have dedicated servers on other networks. You will be given access to the CDP server to setup your server to backup and at intervals you prefer. You can select a backup node in any of our existing datacenters to provide optimal routing, low latency and the fastest possible backup and restore times.
